How long will it take to get my portrait? Depending on size and complexity, it will take between two to four weeks from first sending the photographs until receiving the final artwork.
Do you offer portraits in color?
Certainly! See below chart for the prices of colored pencil portraits.
Why do you work from photographs?
My reason for choosing to work from photos lies mostly in the fact that small details are captured much better when working off of a still subject. It is also quite time-consuming to sit for a live portrait!
Do you provide framing for your portraits?
No, I do not. Framed artwork is difficult to mail and could cause damage to the drawing itself. I spray each finished portrait with a protective sealant and then mail it in a hard tube to avoid bending or smudging.
What kind of photographs make the best portrait?
Choosing the proper type of photo is crucial in ensuring a spectatular finished portrait. Preferrably, the photo should be as close to the subject as possible, with a well-lighted background and clear features. I can work off of old black-and-white photos as long as they are not obscured. You can send me as many photographs as you wish and I will look them over and let you know which will make the best portrait.
